SCALA reports 71% increase in global projects

Global supply chain and logistics consultancy SCALA has reported a 71% increase in global projects in the last financial year. The growth comes at a particularly challenging time for global supply chains, with global conflict increasing and climate-related issues creating a turbulent supply chain landscape.

2024 is a time of huge disruption for the supply chain industry. From climate events, to the repercussions of Brexit, to trade conflicts between the US and China, to Israel’s expanding war in the Middle East, delays and challenges for procurement will be felt for years to come. Supply chain strategy – and consultancies who help to implement it – have become crucial elements of a supply chain company’s success in this disruptive environment.

Founded in 2001, SCALA helps companies across sectors with services including supply chain strategy, procurement, logistics optimisation, warehouse design, and transport. From its early beginnings in Huddersfield, SCALA has since grown into an international player, delivering projects across the UK, Europe, Asia, and the US. In the last financial year, this has positioned SCALA for meteoric growth.

As such, SCALA has extended its number of global projects by 71%. According to a release from the firm, this global growth includes new projects taking place from the US and Western Europe to China. Meanwhile, aside from the extension in global projects, SCALA has also seen its total number of projects grow by 23%.

Phil Reuben, executive director at SCALA, commented on SCALA’s growth, “At SCALA we’re proud to deliver projects not just in the UK, but across Europe and globally. Our international expansion reflects the growing demand for our services as businesses seek to optimise and futureproof their operations in an increasingly complex global landscape. We’re seeing an increased need for resilient supply chains in today’s business landscape. Businesses have had to adapt consistently to overcome the various geopolitical challenges confronting supply chains and business operations.”

To support this expansion, SCALA has appointed two new consultants, both currently working on long-term projects. And Chris Clowes has been promoted to executive director – having joined the SCALA team last year as a senior consultant. Now, he will look to build on the momentum of 2024, by leading the firm’s expansion drive in Europe. This appointment, along with the addition of two new consultants, underscores SCALA’s commitment to expanding its European and global presence.

Reuben concluded, “It’s great to see SCALA being recognised for our technical expertise and practical management experience on an international scale. As we continue to expand globally, SCALA remains committed to delivering high-quality, forward-thinking solutions tailored to our diverse client base.”
