SCALA launches new service to reduce tariff and compliance risks

Supply chain and logistics consultancy SCALA has launched a new international trade compliance service designed to help businesses manage increasing volatility in tariffs. The offering delivers support for companies striving to remain compliant while optimising their supply chain operations.

Trade barriers continue to dominate headlines. With America’s second Trump administration determined to punish other economies for supplying the US with products, materials and skills, a fresh wave of tariffs may be heading to the European Union. Elsewhere, the UK continues to reckon with its own costly divorce from the European community – its luxury exports to the EU having almost halved since Brexit.

Amid this, international logistics consultancy SCALA has launched a bespoke advisory service to help businesses navigate volatile tariffs and evolving global trade regulations. The service is designed to address the most pressing compliance issues facing organisations today, including maintaining up-to-date and accurate customs documentation and declarations; mitigating risk related to sanctions, embargoes, and supplier integrity; and preventing “double duty” scenarios exacerbated by the UK’s exit from the EU.

The new offering will be headed by SCALA's international customs and logistics consultant Andrew King. Bringing expertise in end-to-end logistics solutions to the role, he will work to help clients align with new customs duty and tax regulations.

“Trade compliance is no longer just an operational requirement – it’s a strategic imperative,” said King. “Businesses are facing heightened scrutiny, complex audits, and increased fines for non-compliance. Our new service equips clients with the expert knowledge and practical support they need to navigate this environment successfully.”

Backed by SCALA’s proven track record of combining high-quality technical expertise with practical management experience, the new service provides tailored compliance audits, risk assessments, process optimisation, and ongoing regulatory monitoring. It will also help businesses comply with emerging EU regulations like the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and deforestation-free product rules (EUDR) – as SCALA looks to support businesses to optimise and futureproof their operations, helping clients boost the resilience of their global supply chains in an increasingly uncertain world.
