Adam Coventry joins SCALA as executive director

Global consultancy SCALA has appointed Adam Coventry as an executive director. According to Chief Executive Office John Perry, it is a move that will enhance the business’s expertise in warehouse design, optimisation, and automation.

Perry added, “The world of warehousing is evolving faster than ever, and advancements like automation, robotics and AI are central to its progress. Adam brings considerable experience from his time at Boots to support our clients in navigating the years to come and will play an integral part in our strategy over the coming years.”

Founded in 2001, SCALA provides supply chain and logistics expertise to clients around the world. With an executive board of directors, all of whom have senior level business experience, the firm is at the cutting edge of supply chain ecosystem strategy.

Supported by a host of senior consultants, specialist associates, and strategic partnerships, the arrival of Coventry brings further experience and expertise to SCALA’s operations. With 30 years of experience in warehousing and supply chain leadership, his most recent role came as director of warehousing for Boots UK, where he oversaw a £40 million automation investment into the e-commerce supply chain. He was also responsible for numerous smaller warehouse automation projects.

Warehousing has been one of the items at the top of the agenda for SCALA clients recently, amid an uncertain market, and global supply chain disruptions in 2025. At SCALA, Coventry will leverage this experience to oversee a range of consulting projects, assisting clients with their warehouse design and optimisation requirements, with a strong focus on automation and robotics. Coventry will also sit on the firm’s board.

On his new role as executive director, Coventry added, “I’m looking forward to helping SCALA’s clients navigate the changes taking place in this industry when it comes to automation and optimisation. It’s a fast-paced and exciting world to be a part of right now, but with technological advancement comes the need for experience and contextual understanding of how complex warehousing challenges play out in real life – and how the risks can be mitigated. I’m ready to get started helping SCALA’s clients to get the most from their operations.”
