BJSS headline sponsor of Sheffield Digital Festival 2022
The Sheffield Digital Festival is a week-long celebration of the digital and creative industries within the city and its surrounding region. The 2022 edition sees consultancy BJSS join as a headline sponsor.
Sheffield Digital is the organisation for businesses and individuals involved in Sheffield’s digital industries. To help the steel city showcase the best of its digital talent, the organisation hosts an annual festival.
The last two Sheffield Digital Festivals have been entirely virtual due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Across the 2020 and 2021 festivals, the community hosted over 60 online events, ranging from masterclasses, product demos and virtual exhibitions, to webinars and panel discussions. However, 2022 sees the event return to the physical realm.
Sheffield boasts an ever-growing ecosystem of technology companies that is beginning to compete with London. Sheffield is an established home to a number of large private and public sector organisations in addition to the fast growing Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, for example. All this will be showcased from Monday 9th May to the Friday 13th May.
Supporting the 2022 are a number of local and national businesses. This year, consultancy BJSS has decided to increase its involvement. The third time the firm has supported Sheffield Digital Festival, BJSS has become a headline sponsor, and will host a number of events in its office.
BJSS only opened an office in Sheffield in 2020, making it living proof that the city is drawing digital talent. Since its arrival, the firm has supported the local technology community by sharing our local and international insights and education via events such as the Sheffield Digital Festival. Additionally, BJSS has grown its team of 30 to a team of 80, and hopes to continue to support the demand for our services from our customers by continuing this growth trajectory.
Andrew Long, Head of Delivery for BJSS Sheffield, said, “By sponsoring the Sheffield Digital Festival 2022, we are highlighting our commitment to supporting the local tech community, as well as the wider economy. BJSS is focused on unlocking latent tech talent in the UK’s expansion regions, to help in levelling up the country. In November last year, BJSS announced a recruitment drive which will see 250 new tech jobs created across eight new locations across the UK, all outside of London.”
Sheffield Digital Festival has three rungs of sponsorship. The premier sponsor spot is held by Eyup, a Yorkshire software development venture. Meanwhile, BJSS is joined by Business Sheffield as a headline sponsor. Finally, friends of the festival include Sheffield Hallam University, Showroom Workstation Sheffield, National Videogame Museum, and Northend.
