Netcompany delivers email migration for Highways England

Global IT consultancy Netcompany has successfully completed an email service transformation for Highways England, as part of its modernisation programme and cloud-first strategy.

Highways England is the government-owned company charged with operating, maintaining and improving England's motorways and major A roads. Netcompany was tasked with migrating 7,000 Highways England email accounts (made up of individual and shared inboxes), from a legacy infrastructure to Microsoft Exchange Online.

In collaboration with Highways England stakeholders, Netcompany developed the approach to execute the migration; driving and assuring quality throughout the process and managing relationships with all involved.

By migrating to the cloud, Highways England can expect to see increased productivity, greater accessibility, enhanced security and increased integration into the M365 platform alongside lower costs and a faster return on investment.

Andrew Bee, Project Manager at Netcompany, said: “Moving an email solution is often viewed with apprehension, as we all consider email as an essential and high priority business tool. By working closely with Highways England, we’ve managed to undertake and complete a significant email migration with little disruption for staff.”

This critical project was delivered on time, with 100% of Highways England staff now consuming email service via a rich featured modernised exchange online infrastructure.”

All of Highways England’s staff currently work with the new email exchange.
