BJSS has expanded its suite of offerings for the retailer and consumer-focused business, with a new partnership with commercetools. The addition of the platform for next-generation B2C and B2B commerce to  BJSS’ portfolio means its retail clients will be able to meet end-customers’ digital commerce expectations.

In recent years, the boom of ecommerce has offered many brands a new lease of life, with benefits of digitalisation and the creation of omni-channel shopping experiences boosting convenience and reducing costs for the consumer. This has only been emphasised by the global pandemic, as bricks-and-mortar retailers who have not adapted to life online have faced huge losses over the last 12 months.

Now, as it looks to help clients in the retail sector embrace e-commerce, consulting firm BJSS has added a new solution to its portfolio. The firm has partnered with commercetools – a global toolkit for next-generation B2C and B2B commerce, providing clients with the building blocks necessary to create bespoke commerce platforms tailored to the needs of retailers looking to open up the world of e-commerce.

David Gore, Head of Industries at BJSS, commented, “We’re hugely excited to be partnering with commercetools, a global leader with a great breadth and depth of knowledge across both MACH architecture and digital commerce. Combined with BJSS’ track record for designing and delivering user-centric software solutions, this partnership means we can offer even more solutions that help clients transform how they do business.”

Using modern development building blocks in a cloud platform provided by commercetools, customers can deliver the best commerce experiences across every touchpoint on a large scale. Since its founding in 2006, commercetools software has been implemented by Fortune 500 companies across industries, from retail to manufacturing and from telecommunications to fashion. The organisation has offices across the US, Europe, and Asia Pacific, with headquarters in Germany.

BJSS will now become an implementation partner, with the firm bringing extensive experience in the end-to-end digital transformation process to the partnership. As such, it can help clients apply commercetools to their firm, from strategy and service design to digital delivery, engineering and data. Leveraging its own Enterprise Agile methodology, BJSS will be able to tailor commercetools’ solutions to support retail clients’ strategic goals and then rapidly and effectively deploy those technologies to the benefit of end-users.

Dirk Weckerlei, Global VP of Channel and Alliances at commercetools noted, “BJSS is one of the leading providers of technology and engineering consulting in the retail and consumer industries. This partnership allows us to deliver best in class integration services for enterprise commerce customers, expand our footprint into high growth regions, and scale our business both in the UK and internationally.”

Even as social distancing measures ease in the UK, the pandemic has no doubt shifted consumer behaviours with many trends that were predicted to take years having occurred in weeks and months. Consumers are spending more time at home and with that e-commerce and online delivery have thrived – and that looks set to continue well into the ‘new normal,’ according to a number of studies.

As a result, solutions such as commercetools could provide a life-line for many retailers who previously were reluctant to digitalise, and now find themselves out of step with their customers.
