UK consultancy Quantuma has further invested in its Bristol operations with a new Partner appointment. Louise Durkan joins the firm having spent the last 10 years with Deloitte, latterly holding the rank of Director in the firm’s financial advisory practice.

Specialist consulting firm Quantuma has been expanding its team to meet heightened demand in its offices in London, Southampton, Bristol, Marlow, Watford, Brighton, Birmingham, Manchester, Ringwood and Weymouth. Recently, this saw Quantuma appoint Duncan Beat as a Partner to its Chelmsford and London offices, following almost 20 years with Baker Tilly.

Now, the firm has further boosted its offering with the arrival of Louise Durkan in its Bristol Office. As Quantuma expands its South West practice, Durkan takes on the role of Partner at the firm, and will work alongside Quantuma partner Graham Randall to head up the firm’s regional restructuring practice. This will include supporting distressed businesses with fast track M&A and pre pack administrations advice, as well as traditional insolvency services.

Carl Jackson, Managing Partner at Quantuma, commented, “Louise has a wealth of experience in delivering a range of restructuring advisory services to corporates and their stakeholders in the South West and will be an excellent addition to our senior team in Bristol. A key part of our vision for Quantuma in the region is to grow the team in the Bristol office, as well as the portfolio of services we offer to clients. This aligns perfectly to the strategy of the wider firm, with significant advances in our restructuring, forensic accounting and corporate finance offerings in recent months.”

Durkan has more than 20 years’ experience in financial advisory, and arrives from Deloitte, where she spent the last decade in the firm’s financial advisory practice. The ex-Deloitte Director also has a strong background in restructuring across the South West, and has previously held roles at some of the UK’s biggest advisory businesses, including Grant Thornton, KPMG and EY.

Louise Durkan, Partner at Quantuma, said of her new role, “Despite being an established but relatively young business, the firm already has huge experience with the likes of Carl Jackson and Graham Randall… Expanding and strengthening the firm’s advisory services is also going to be a key focus to help drive the Quantuma business forward across the South West. As a result, I’ll be working closely with our M&A and transactional teams to maximise our impact, while maintaining the quality insolvency and restructuring practice that Quantuma has built in the region.”

The news follows Quantuma’s move into the Vintry Building in Bristol city centre in November 2019, which saw the firm take on 2,000 square foot of additional office space. This was designed to support the firm’s ambition to double its headcount to 20 in the coming year.

Elsewhere in late 2019, the consultancy also launched a new transaction services practice, based in the firm’s London office. The transaction services team is spearheaded by Jonathan Thornton, and works with corporates, private equity houses, banks and other debt providers that are looking to acquire or invest in businesses.
