Jobs saved with pre-pack sale of Surrey-based Becon Precision Engineering
Becon Precision Engineering fell into administration, with a legacy of debt from the Covid-19 pandemic placing it in financial distress. However, consultants from Quantuma completed a pre-pack sale, to safeguard the company’s jobs.
Established in 2001, Becon Precision Engineering manufactures high quality machined parts and components to a wide array of industries where precision is key. The company’s sector specialisms include oil and gas, fire protection and defence. In 2013, the business moved from a 1,000 square foot unit into a 6,000 square foot factory, based in Byfleet, Surrey.
A difficult period soon followed, however. The business experienced a number of challenging circumstances, including a legacy of debt and a reduction in turnover as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Quantuma’s Chris Newell and Jo Leach were appointed as joint administrators on 28 April 2026 to explore options for the firm’s assets.
Fortunately, the experts from business advisory firm quickly completed the sale of the Surrey-based manufacturing firm. This pre-pack sale secures the future of this engineering and manufacturing company business and protects all jobs – as staff transfer to the purchaser, Vision Engineering, under TUPE regulations.
Commenting on the results of the accelerated sales and marketing campaign, Newell said, “I am very pleased to have achieved such a positive outcome for this well-established business, ensuring that all employees’ jobs have been saved. We are delighted to have secured the long-term viability of the business, allowing it to continue its journey, whilst supported by a buyer with the ability to take Becon forwards. We wish the team every success in their next chapter.”
