RSM sponsors Scottish professional golfer Paul Lawrie

RSM, following its recent Official Supplier sponsorship deal with the European Tour, has decided to sponsor Scottish golf veteran Paul Lawrie. The deal sees Lawrie bear the firm’s branding throughout tournaments as well as engage with its clients and staff at events.

Earlier this year professional services firm RSM became an Official Supplier of the European Tour. As part of the sponsorship deal, the firm supports a number of marquee European Tour events in 2016 and 2017, which include the MW PGA Championship, Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open, the British Masters supported by Sky Sports and the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open Hosted by the Rory Foundation. 

RSM’s most recent tie up in the golf space sees the accounting and consulting firm sponsor Scottish professional golfer Paul Lawrie, winner of The Open Championship in 1999 and 8 time European Tour winner, for three years.

Lawrie, who appointed an OBE in 2013 for voluntary service to golf, has twice been the European representative for the Ryder Cup. The sponsorship deal will see Lawrie become a brand ambassador for RSM, which sees him display the firm’s brand during official tournaments, as well as engage in client and employee related events.

Lawrie says, “I have had a long personal association with RSM due to their longstanding support of the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre, and I am delighted to be taking that to a new level as part of Team RSM. I am proud to have RSM backing me.”

The deal builds on earlier engagements RSM has made within golf – including the sponsorship of Andrew Sullivan. Last month, RSM and the European Tour launched a joint study into player performance.
