Golf remains an international sport that is clothed in sophistication and business charm, whether as a quiet place to discuss deals or to relax on the green. Sponsorship has for a long time been a way to promote bands and support talent. In a recent announcement, RSM says that it will sponsor UK rising golf star Andrew Sullivan for three years.

Rising professional UK gold star Andrew Sullivan has had a good 2015 season. At the start of the year he was ranked 150th in the world, today he stands at 37th. Last year he won three times on the European Tour, while in November he come second to Rory McIlroy at the European Tour's season-closing World Tour Championship. His recent EurAsia Cup performance saw him take every game, momentum he takes with him to among others the Heron Indian Open and the Volvo China Open, where he will meet the likes of Jordan Spieth, Rory McIlroy and Rickie Fowler.

The three year deal will see Andy Sullivan supported by RSM in exchange for personal appearances with the firm’s clients and employees, displaying the RSM logo on his shirt, as well as social media interactions. He will play a key role in the firm’s growing partnership strategy and becomes part of Team RSM. The decision of the UK arm to sponsor Sullivan has been inspired by a range of successful golf sponsorships in the US. The US members of Team RSM include the PGA Tour professionals Zach Johnson, Chris DiMarco and Davis Love III – with the firm’s RSM Classic golf tournament also an established fixture in the PGA Tour calendar.

Andy Sullivan says: “RSM are all about empowering their clients to move forward with confidence and I am proud to be partnering with them as we both look to build on the successes from last year. I’m excited about my prospects for the year ahead and it’s fantastic to have such a strong brand backing me all the way.”

David Gwilliam, Chief Operating Officer for RSM UK, says: “I am delighted that Andy is now an ambassador for RSM as he embodies many of our core values such as excellence, integrity and respect. Andy’s rise in the rankings over the past year has been remarkable, mirroring a successful year for RSM. I am sure that we will see great things from Andy in 2016, and we very much look forward to being part of his continued success over the coming years.”
