CIL welcomes Jenni Emery to non-executive team
Jenni Emery has joined CIL as a non-executive director. She joins at the end of a busy year for the firm’s human resources function, and will advise on its future people strategy, as it looks to grow further.
Founded in 1986, CIL Management Consultants provides strategy consulting, value creation and due diligence support to management teams and investors. CIL is experiencing strong growth, both internationally and in the UK. Earlier in the year, CIL appointed four directors – James Cavanagh and Mike Hallett within its business services and technology practices, and Richard Blackburn-Hughes and Emily Andrews in its value creation and consumer teams – to help to meet that demand. Now, the firm has followed it up with a non-executive appointment.
Speaking on her arrival, Jenni Emery said, “CIL combines the energy of a growth business with the values of a close-knit firm. I’m delighted to join the Board and to help guide its next phase of international expansion.”
Emery will take on the position as a non-executive director from the start of December 2025. She brings over two decades of senior leadership experience across some of the world’s most respected professional services and investment firms.
She is currently a partner at Altair, advising FTSE 250 companies, multinationals and professional services firms on leadership, strategy and organisational culture – but was formerly chief people officer at private equity player Advent International, and at design and engineering consultancy Arup.
Due to this extensive experience, Emery has already worked closely with CIL’s HR team on people strategy. As a non-executive director, she will now provide a further independent challenge, and strategic counsel to the firm’s board, supporting the its continued growth while helping preserve and enhance its distinctive culture across an expanding international footprint.
Jon Whiteman, managing partner at CIL, added, “CIL’s success is built on its people and the culture that supports them. As we expand globally and take on more complex client work, ensuring that culture remains strong and consistent is a key priority. Jenni’s experience shaping people strategy in world-class organisations will be invaluable as we continue to grow.”
