CIL Strategy Consultants rebrands to sharpen focus on growth strategy
CIL Management Consultants has rebranded as CIL Strategy Consultants, signalling a sharper focus on its core area of client work – growth strategy.
The change in name and brand reflects how CIL’s work has evolved over the years, with the majority of its engagements now centred around growth strategy and market expansion projects.
“Our work today looks very different to where we started, and our name and brand needed to reflect that,” said Jon Whiteman, Managing Partner at CIL Strategy Consultants. “Clients increasingly rely on us for clear direction on growth, value creation, market opportunity and commercial decision-making. This change recognizes the depth of strategy work we now do and our ambition as a global firm.”
Founded in 1986, CIL Strategy Consultants is headquartered in London, with further offices in Paris, Munich, New York and Chicago. The firm works with management teams of private sector businesses and investors such as private equity funds and family offices.
Over the past five years, the consulting firm has delivered strong growth, averaging 22% annually – significantly outperforming the market average across the strategy consulting segment. Its core business – growth strategy – expanded rapidly, growing at an annual rate of 49%, while other service lines, including mergers & acquisitions (mainly strategic and commercial due diligence) and pricing, also recorded growth.
Headcount has increased by an average of 25% annually, with the firm now employing more than 200 consultants and staff across its five offices.
“We’re increasingly asked to support decisions where the stakes are high. That means going deeper into markets, pricing and performance drivers, and applying insight with precision. The new brand reflects how we work day to day and the standards we set for ourselves and our clients,” noted Alex Marshall, Senior Partner at CIL Strategy Consultants.
In 2025, CIL Strategy Consultants was recognised as one of the UK’s leading strategy consulting firms. The company is a member of the B Corp community.
