Crowe expands UK services with launch of probate advisory offering

Crowe has announced the launch of a new probate advisory service. The additional offering aims to strengthen the audit and advisory firm’s established tax services for private clients.
Nigel Bostock, chief executive at Crowe, commented, “The introduction of our probate advisory service marks an important milestone in the firm’s continued commitment to enhancing the breadth of services we offer to our clients. As we strive for sustainable growth in 2025 and beyond, we remain dedicated to meeting our clients’ evolving needs and delivering the highest standard of expertise and support.”
Part of a global network with over 200 independent firms in more than 145 countries, Crowe UK is an accountancy firm offering audit, tax, and advisory services. In the UK, the firm recently granted its probate licence – and will now work to help clients navigate the complexities of probate proceedings, from managing the entire process of an estate on behalf of clients acting as executors and providing taxation support for clients who have died.
Pete Fairchild, national head of private clients at Crowe, commented, “With the invaluable addition of the probate service, we have broadened our expertise, enabling us to offer a more holistic approach to our clients’ needs. Together with Natalie, our fast-growing and experienced team is privileged to be able to support clients through every stage of life.”
As part of its probate advisory wing, Crowe’s experienced team will now support clients with completing complex inheritance tax accounts, preparing and submitting the oath for Grant of Probate, assisting with estate administration, and handling estate tax returns and estate accounts with precision and care. The team will be led by Natalie Butt, a specialist in probate advisory, who joined the firm as a director in the national private clients team in July 2024.
Butt concluded, “It has been a privilege to add to Crowe’s already exceptional tax capabilities in the private client sector with this important probate service, which enables us to support our clients during what is an incredibly difficult time. Our goal is to remove the burden and stress of dealing with matters such as interacting with the authorities, transferring assets to beneficiaries, and filing returns to HMRC. Our team understand the frustrations of the probate process and are here to take control and navigate this on behalf of our clients.”
