Mason Advisory wins top prize at Salford Business Awards
Independent IT consultancy Mason Consultancy has been handed the Excellence Award at the 2019 Salford Business Awards. The ceremony took place at the Lowry Hotel at the end of October, and aims to celebrate the successes of Salford-based businesses over the last twelve months.
With offices in Manchester, Salford, and London, Mason Advisory provides IT consultancy and advisory services, solving business challenges through the use of IT resources including IT strategy and transformation, sourcing, architecture, cybersecurity and IT delivery. Launched in May 2014, the firm operates in sectors such as education, retail, finance and banking, health, insurance, government and private security.
In recent months, Mason has been praised by a number of business groups. Earlier in 2019, Great Place to Work named it as one of only three consulting firms on a list of top office spaces to work in in the UK. In October last year, the firm received a Queen’s Award for Enterprise for its work overseas, where it oversaw projects in the US, Switzerland, Norway, Ireland, Jamaica, Qatar, and Mauritius.
Now, as the firm celebrates its fifth anniversary in business, Mason has been honoured with yet more plaudits, this time coming from the Salford Business Awards. Now in its 11th year, the awards ceremony is organised in partnership between the University of Salford, The Business Group and Salford City Council, with the aim of providing an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the successes of Salford-based businesses over the last year. Nine awards were offered which are sponsored by local businesses and business supporters, including the Excellence Award handed to Mason.
This was the first time the MediaCityUK-based business had entered the awards, further emphasising the achievement. The Excellence Award, which Mason fended off competition from runner-up Merco Facilities to obtain, focuses on businesses that ensure excellence is at the forefront of the entire organisation, including management, processes, feedback, monitoring and customer service. Judges were looking for high standards of leadership, planning, analysis, people management and customer-led focus.
Speaking at the event – hosted by ITV Granada News presenter and reporter, Elaine Willcox – Steve Watmough, CEO at Mason Advisory, said, “We’ve had a brilliant year in terms of business success and client wins, awards and accolades, and staff satisfaction so to win this award so close to home is a great achievement… Now is an exciting time for Salford and the North West region, as it’s in a period of really strong growth and prosperity, and we’ve got exciting expansion plans for 2020 and beyond. We’ll continue to deliver innovative and transformational IT projects across the UK and abroad.”
