Mason Advisory scoops Silver in Investors in Diversity Award

14 August 2024 Consultancy.uk

Mason Advisory has been commended by the National Centre For Diversity. The firm was presented with a Silver in the Investors in Diversity Awards for Small Businesses.

The National Centre For Diversity (NCFD) is the UK’s longest-standing equality, diversity and inclusion accreditation. Since 2005, the organisation has worked with over 900 organisations across multiple sectors to create a framework that builds inclusive cultures and leads organisations to success. Despite that length of time, and the consulting industry’s continued endorsement of workplace diversity, however, the NCFD has rarely been engaged with by the industry.

In fact, according to a release from Mason Advisory, the firm’s participation in the NCFD’s 2024 intake is the first time that a “leading digital and technology consultancy has entered the award”. But with its obtaining of the award, Mason Advisory has confirmed for the next two years to 2026 that its achievements and commitments are aimed to ensure diversity is top of the agenda.

The assessment analyses the company’s fairness, respect, equality, diversity, inclusion and engagement (FREDIE) practices throughout the organisation’s culture. The NCID, recognised as the national equality standard, reported that staff at Mason Advisory felt a strong sense of value and respect among each other and feel there is fairness for all within the organisation.

Romilly Gleave, head of people and talent at Mason Advisory, commented, “This is the first time we have entered the Investors in Diversity Awards so it’s a huge achievement for our whole team to have been awarded Silver. The award is a mark of excellence, reflecting our dedication to creating an environment where all employees feel valued, respected, and empowered to achieve their full potential.”

Gleave added that the accolade was the result of “continuous efforts to integrate diversity and inclusion into every aspect” of Mason Advisory’s business operations. Looking ahead, the firm will continue to foster an all inclusive, equitable and diverse workplace and “take on board all recommendations to work towards Gold at our next assessment in 2026.”

The news comes at a time when the UK’s consulting industry has been conspicuous in its silence on matters of diversity. With the UK rocked by far-right riots targeting immigrants and ethnic minorities, few firms have been forthcoming with statements in which they walk the talk regarding their previously stated commitments to creating an inclusive workplace or society.
