The 2017 HealthInvestor awards saw a host of professional services firms honoured for their efforts in the sector. The winners, who were initially short-listed in February, included Candesic, CIL, Deloitte and Knight Frank, who were recognised by clients in the health investment sector as leading consulting firms in the industry.

The prestigious HealthInvestor awards has honoured a number of consulting firms at an event at Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, London. The ceremony, run annually by Health Investor Magazine, a publication for professionals advising, investing or operating within the health sector, was established to promote excellence and recognise achievement in the independent care sector across the UK.

After the initial finalists were shortlisted in February, winners were selected by a panel of high profile, independent judges from across the sector. The victorious organisations were then announced at a ceremony attended by over 1,200 of the health investment segment’s leading figures. Attendees were typically advisors, investors or operators within the independent healthcare sector but the Awards are open for anyone to attend.

The award for corporate financier of the year was presented to Big Four consulting firm Deloitte. The consulting giants achievements across the healthcare arena have seen the firm named Corporate Financier of the Year at the HealthInvestor Awards in four out of the previous five years.

Candesic were meanwhile named the strategic consultants of the year. Candesic is a strategy consultancy head-quartered in London, which serves private operators, investors, and public sector organisations. Responding to the news of their victory, a brief statement from the firm noted, “We pride ourselves on delivering CEO level clarity with R&D level insight.”

In the transactional consultants of the year category, CIL Management Consultants triumphed. The firm, who stated they were “thrilled” with the award, fought off competition from the likes of Connell Consulting, L.E.K and Big Four firm PwC to take home the prize.

Concluding the advisory segment of the awards, Knight Frank were named as property consultants of the year for capital markets. The London-founded estate agency, residential and commercial property consultancy faced down challenges from Christie & Co, JLL Healthcare, O’Kane Commercial and fellow real-estate consultants Savills, who recently agreed to the purchase of Spanish firm Aguirre Newman for €67 million.
