5 consulting firms in top 25 places to work in UK

Employer review platform Glassdoor has released its annual list of top 25 places to work in the UK. Google tops the list, followed by employee-owned retailer John Lewis and tech giant Microsoft at number three. Accenture is the highest ranked consulting firm in the ranking, which in addition includes four other professional services firms: Deloitte, PwC, PA Consulting Group and EY.

Every year Glassdoor asks thousands of employees to rate how satisfied they are with their employer. The reviews span across a range of factors, including overall satisfaction with company culture, how well they feel their CEO leads as well as key workplace attributes including career opportunities, compensation and benefits, culture and values, and work-life balance. The 25 companies with the highest overall scores are subsequently included in the ‘Top 25 places to work in the UK’ list.

The ranking reveals that Google is the best place to work, praised for its “cool culture”, “amazing people”, and the “level of trust given to employees”. An overview of the top 25 employers:

The list contains five firms active in the consulting industry. Accenture is named the best place in consulting, admired for among others its growth opportunities, compensation & benefits and the quality of its leadership. Three of the Big 4 firms make the top 25, with Deloitte the highest ranked, and KPMG the only of the four to miss out. UK-origin management consultancy PA Consulting Group finds itself on the eleventh spot, just after PwC.

Global employers
Glassdoor also revealed the 50 Best Places to Work in the United States. The list of best employers across the pond is led by strategy consulting firm Bain & Company, followed by social media giants Twitter and LinkedIn.
