BearingPoint helps Ireland with a unique postcode system
BearingPoint has been selected to lead the development and roll out of the new Irish postcode system. After the go-live, Ireland will be the first country in the world with a unique coding per home and business.
The international consulting firm will work closely with Autoaddress and Capita, the Irish Minister for Communications Pat Rabbitte Thas confirmed in a press communiqué.
The new system will provide a unique seven-character code to every letter box in the State by 2015. Following the go-live Ireland will be the first country in the world to have a postcode that uniquely identifies all properties. This will assist individuals, public-service bodies and businesses to accurately locate homes and businesses in Ireland.
