Leonard Curtis launches dedicated Liverpool funding team

UK professional services firm Leonard Curtis has launched a dedicated Liverpool funding team, supporting the firm’s national growth strategy. The offering will be led by Paul Sharpe, who joins the firm to head up the team.

Leonard Curtis was originally established in 1995 in Bury as an insolvency division of a regional accountancy practice, later growing into a national professional services group specialising in restructuring, insolvency, and business services. The firm today has a team of 340 people operating across a 30-strong office network.

As the firm continues to put funding from private equity house Pollen Street Capital to work, the firm has now expanded to host a dedicated funding team in Liverpool. Reinforcing the firm’s commitment to businesses across Merseyside, Chester and North Wales, the Liverpool launch follows the opening of the firm’s dedicated Birmingham Funding team in May 2026, which marked a further step in the firm’s strategy to strengthen its funding offering and regional presence.

Becky Owen, head of funding at Leonard Curtis, said, “Liverpool is a key market for Leonard Curtis and we see significant opportunity to build on the relationships and expertise we already have in the city. Bringing dedicated funding resource into our existing Liverpool office means we can offer businesses even greater access to the funding options available to them, while drawing on the wider expertise of the Leonard Curtis team.”

Funding Relationship Manager Paul Sharpe has joined Leonard Curtis from Metro Bank to help lead the Liverpool offering. He will now work alongside Mike Dinnell, structured debt manager, and Conor Jones, business advisory analyst, to build the firm’s funding team in the city. Sharpe will work closely with the wider Leonard Curtis team in Liverpool, as well as lenders, introducers and clients, to connect businesses with the right funding and advisory solutions.

Sharpe commented, “Funding requirements vary significantly from one business to another, so understanding what a client is trying to achieve is an important part of finding the right solution. My role will be to work closely with businesses and our network of lenders and introducers to understand those requirements and bring the right people and expertise around the table.”
