innoscripta aims to expedite UK R&D tax claims with technology

R&D tax advisory innoscripta has launched in the UK. The move sees it bring its proprietary audit-ready claim software to UK clients for the first time – as it looks to disrupt the traditional consulting model in the sector.

Sebastian Schwertlein COO of innoscripta commented, “The UK market is at a tipping point. Businesses need a faster, more transparent and more defensible way to manage R&D tax claims, and software is rapidly becoming the new standard. We believe the era of spreadsheets and retrospective paperwork is coming to an end, and we’re excited to help UK innovators make that transition.”

The UK R&D tax market remains heavily dependent on manual processes despite increasing regulatory scrutiny, following successive HMRC reforms including the introduction of the Merged R&D Expenditure Credit Scheme. Many businesses still prepare claims using spreadsheets and retrospective documentation, even as HMRC demands more detailed evidence and greater transparency over qualifying R&D activity.

European R&D tax technology specialist Innoscripta aims to help clients replace manual R&D tax claim processes with real-time, audit-ready software, however. The firm’s Clusterix platform captures R&D activity in real time, reducing administration and creating continuous, audit-ready evidence for HMRC. Alongside this offering, UK leader Josh Perry will aim to position the firm to challenge the manual, consultancy-led model that has long defined the UK’s R&D tax credit market.

As head of sales, UK and Ireland, Perry brings over a decade of experience advising UK businesses on R&D tax strategy, including helping companies align their R&D positions across UK and US operations.

He added, “The demand among UK businesses for a smarter, more seamless way to claim R&D relief is obvious the moment you talk to them. So much time is still lost to manual documentation which fails to add value to the science or the engineering itself. I’m looking forward to helping UK companies access the same technology-led approach that’s already supporting innovative businesses across Europe.”

Already trusted by more than 2,500 companies across Europe, innoscripta has built its reputation by helping innovative organisations simplify R&D funding and improve compliance through technology. The UK marks the latest step in the company’s international expansion following its 2025 IPO.
