Menzies opens new office for 80-member team Crawley
Strategy consulting and accounting firm Menzies has launched a new office in Crawley. Strengthening the firm’s presence in the ‘Gatwick Diamond’ area, the locale already houses 80 staff and partners, and will deliver Menzies’ full service offering.
Centred around the famous UK airport, the Gatwick Diamond is an economic region in South East England, spanning parts of West Sussex and East Surrey. As a premier business hub, it is known for high-value sectors like aviation, advanced engineering, and technology – with some 45,000 businesses making it one of the UK’s top 10 largest local economies.
Menzies’ new office at Origin One, 108 High Street, Crawley, places the firm at the heart of the Gatwick Diamond. The 80-strong team will support clients with Menzies’ full offering of services, including the transport and logistics, manufacturing, research and development sectors, as well as audit, tax and strategic advisory services.
Caroline Milton, who will head up the new Gatwick office, said, “Our move to Crawley represents an important milestone for Menzies. The Gatwick Diamond is one of the UK’s most vibrant and entrepreneurial regions, and this new office positions us closer to the businesses and communities we support.”
The move sees Menzies’ former Leatherhead team relocate to a purpose-designed workspace with strong connectivity to London, key regional centres such as Brighton, and direct rail links to Oxford and Cambridge. Meanwhile, thanks to its vicinity to Gatwick Airport, the move will further strengthen the firm’s access to international markets too.
Investment in local talent remains a key priority for Menzies, still, with a focus on community engagement and local partnerships with universities and education providers, supporting its ambitious plans to grow local headcount by 20% over the next five years. One of the first arrivals is Jan Charlesworth, who joins the new office as an audit partner. He brings more than 20 years’ of experience with him from the consulting sector, to co-lead the regional team, build on an established audit portfolio, and play a key role in developing and mentoring talent as the team expands.
He added, “With enhanced connectivity, a strong, local talent pool and room to grow, the new office leaves us well positioned to build on our momentum, invest in the region and continue delivering the highest quality advice to ambitious businesses across the area.”
The opening builds on Menzies’ continued growth trajectory, following its merger with Beever and Struthers and ESG specialists Grain Sustainability in October, alongside continued renovation and investment in its regional hubs across the country. Together, these milestones have helped create a truly national firm with a combined fee income of over £100 million and a workforce of more than 1,000 professionals.
