Azets appoints David Foreman as partner
Professional services firm Azets has expanded its corporate finance team with the appointment of a new partner. David Foreman joins the firm in the North East of England.
Azets is a business advisory and accounting firm headquartered in London. The company has since grown to more than 165 offices globally, with some 7,000 staff working with 120,000 clients. Only established in 2016, the company’s rapid growth in its first eight years has been backed by UK private equity investor Hg – a specialist investor in European and transatlantic software and services businesses.
As Azets looks to expand its corporate finance team, it has announced the arrival of David Foreman. Bringing more than two decades of financial services experience to the firm, Foreman was most recently a regional manager with Barclays Bank.
At Barclays, Foreman led a team of relationship directors covering small to medium enterprises in the North East. He is also a founding director of the non-for-profit Open North Foundation, helping sustainable businesses prosper during difficult times, and a director of the Business Durham Advisory Board to Durham County Council.
As a partner with Azets, he will help to continue Azets’ rapid expansion in the North East of England. In particular, his arrival benefits clients in deal-making – including buy side, sell side and capital raising – helping them to “achieve the best possible outcomes”, according to the firm’s head of corporate finance.
Azets’ Lee Humble added, “There are more than 181,000 businesses in the North East, a number of which will reach a point in their lifecycle where they need to take the next strategic step by buying competitors, merging with rivals or selling up to enjoy the fruits of a successful retirement sale. It is with this dynamic backdrop, and the growing corporate finance team here in the North East, that we are well placed to offer a proactive, partner-led, dedicated service to ambitious businesses.”
The corporate finance team across the North East has now grown to 20 professionals. That number has also been boosted by the arrival of Joe Sheridan, who joins Azets’ Newcastle office, having transferred from Glasgow, where he was an assistant audit manager.
Sheridan added, “I am delighted to further complement our local team and I am incredibly excited about what the future will bring for our NE practice. Our increased headcount and broadening skillset are becoming increasingly popular and despite the obvious headwinds of the last few years we envisage further growth across 2024 and beyond.”
