Azets boosts medical services offering with acquisition of BDO team
Azets has announced that BDO’s medical services team and client portfolio will join the business. The transaction completed in mid-July, and will see professionals join Azets in Birmingham and Ipswich.

To that end, demand is rising for consulting services to help medical practitioners make the most of the situation.
To that end, Azets has strengthened its specialist healthcare practice. Swooping for the medical services team of professional services firm BDO aims to reinforce Azets’ ambition to become the UK’s leading provider of accounting and advisory services to the healthcare sector.
Peter Gallanagh, chief executive at Azets in the UK and Ireland, said, “The team joining us from BDO brings deep sector expertise, strong client relationships and an outstanding reputation for supporting healthcare professionals. It brings a number of healthcare clients to Azets, including GP practices and Primary Care Networks (PCNs), together with a team of 16 specialist healthcare professionals led by Sarah Lock, partner; Juliette Maguire, director; and Louise Barter, director. Before the BDO acquisition, 120 dedicated medical staff, so now the team hosts a total of 136 experts.
Following completion, Azets will support more than 600 GP practices, and 3,500 GP partners and locums. Sarah Lock, Juliette Maguire and Louise Barter, together with the wider team, will join Azets’ Birmingham and Ipswich offices, further strengthening the firm’s presence in the East of England following its acquisition of Ensors last year and adding further scale and specialist expertise to these regions.
