Manufacturer Assa Abloy outsources IT infrastructure to Wipro

Assa Abloy has hired Wipro to consolidate its data centres and deliver a company-wide IT managed services framework. The value of the five year deal has not been disclosed.

Assa Abloy is a lock manufacturer formed in 1994 by the merger of Swedish ASSA and Abloy in Finland. The company has enjoyed strong growth and today employs more than 46,000 people across the globe, with sales of more than SEK 68 billion. Assa Abloy sells an arrangement of locking mechanisms, access control, identification technology, entrance automation and hotel security services, to clients in more than 70 countries.

In a five year agreement, which is aimed at improving the efficiency of Assa Abloy’s data centre services, Wipro will merge the company’s data centres in the EMEA region, as well as implement a cloud-based service model which includes IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) and PaaS (Platform as a Service). Through the deal Assa Abloy’s global operation will be provided with full range of IT infrastructure management services.
