Catrin Treharne joins LCP as Principal

24 February 2023 Consultancy.uk

LCP has announced the appointment of Catrin Treharne to its growing health analytics team. Arriving as a Principal, she will help build the expertise of the young department, which was only launched in 2020.

Originally branded as Lane Clark & Peacock, LCP is a firm of financial, actuarial and business consultants, specialising in the areas of pensions, investment, insurance and business analytics. Two years ago, the firm launched its Health Analytics Department, amid the uncertainty of the Covid-19 pandemic.

LCP’s Health Analytics wing was soon tasked with significant work within the healthcare sector, including launching an NHS waiting tracker in 2022, and working alongside NHS trusts to help them look at how health has improved or declined over time. Reflecting this, it has had to grow capacity to meet demand – with a headcount of more than 30 people.

The latest arrival at the team is Catrin Treharne, who brings over 11 years’ experience in health economics to LCP. Her experience spans the product lifecycle, from early economic models to global models suited for health technology assessment, as well as models developed for use with local payers, adding important knowledge to LCP’s health offering.

Treharne joins LCP from Mtech Access, a company specialising in pharmaceutical and medtech market access. There she co-led the health economics team, and her previous experience also includes roles at Parexel and Abacus International.

Catrin Treharne commented: “LCP’s health team is quickly becoming recognised and respected for its ability to understand the changes happening in the sector. I am looking forward to bringing my passion and expertise to the team and expanding its horizons with the pharmaceutical industry.”

Looking ahead, she will work with former PwC professional Maisie Borrows, who also joined earlier in February 2023, as a Strategic Growth Lead bringing experience from the pharmaceutical, policy and consulting space. She will meanwhile report to Health Analytics leader Dr Jonathan Pearson-Stuttard, who is also chair of the Royal Society for Public Health.

Pearson Stuttard, Head of LCP’s Health Analytics team, added, “Our health and the challenges facing health systems are changing. The greatest threats are no longer single diseases, but the increasingly complex health demands from ageing populations with increasing multimorbidity. Catrin’s expertise and knowledge of health economic modelling will be invaluable in helping our clients ensure provision and access are targeted proportionately to those who need it most and the greatest returns to the wider health system.”
