Synechron has retired the Citihub Digital brand. The move comes 15 months after the professional services firm acquired the technology consultancy.

Founded in the late 1990s, Citihub Digital was a New York and UK-based technology consulting firm. Over its two decades in business, the company built a headcount of around 100 consultants and staff across offices in London and New York, while  also boasting start-up operations in Toronto and Hong Kong. Its consultants specialised in bringing together business domain and technical topics and turning plans into practical and implementable actions.

In October 2020, Citihub Digital was purchased by Synechron, which itself is on a sustained growth trajectory. Synechron currently has more than 13,000 professionals, up from 8,000 when the company closed the Citihub Digital deal.

Speaking at the time of the deal, Citihub Digital Co-Founder Chris Allison said that joining the much larger Synechron would enable his consulting firm to deliver more value to its clients, expand internationally leveraging Synechron’s global footprint, provide its employees with career more growth opportunities, and professionalise its operations. Allison added, “Synechron is the best partner to enable us to reach the next level.”

Over the following 15 months, the two companies took an integrated approach, working together to solve complex problems for the financial services industry. This has finally resulted in a brand merger, due to which the Citihub Digital brand name will cease to exist. All the company’s business operations, practices, offices, employees, and client commitments have meanwhile been fully transitioned, becoming a vital part of Synechron’s global operation.

Faisal Husain, Co-founder and CEO of Synechron, said of the milestone, “We are pleased to have each of the talented Citihub team members formally join Synechron, after having worked closely with them since we began our alliance. As we continue to help financial services firms operate more efficiently, effectively and meet the challenges of business, we look forward to strengthening this relationship and enhancing our capabilities through their incredibly dedicated teams and deep domain expertise.”

The full brand integration is aimed at providing Synechron with additional senior-level talent and important specialist competencies in key areas such as application modernisation, data management, cloud platform services and cloud native security, as well as an array of other critical competencies. Meanwhile, the senior consultants and experienced IT strategists formerly under Citihub Digital will continue to provide customised consulting services and help an expanded roster of clients with their IT modernisations, while also being enabled to tap into Synechron’s global footprint.

Allison concluded, “We have long been committed to advising on the very best technology solutions for the complex needs of the financial services industry’s participants. We are inspired by the opportunity to work even more closely across the expansive global Synechron team, and we are grateful to join such a great company whose passion for helping clients is unmatched in the industry.”
