Pensions and investments expert Pallavi Aston has joined Barnett Waddingham as a Partner. As one of the firm’s Senior Investment Consultant team, she specialises in providing strategic investment advice.

Speaking on the news, Aston noted, “I’m excited to be joining a firm that has a unique clarity of purpose built around clients and to have the opportunity to make a real difference to client outcomes. For me work is an important part of life and it was key to join a firm whose core values of integrity, excellence and diversity were aligned with my personal values.”

Founded in 1989, Barnett Waddingham is a leading UK origin actuarial consultancy. Specialising in risk, pensions, investment and insurance, the firm has over 1,370 people in eight offices, 89 of whom are partners.

The firm is experiencing very strong demand for its services. Investors including DB pension schemes are looking for truly independent and tailored advice as they face an unusual and uncertain environment. They are also looking for advice free from potential conflicts of interest, and focused on their own objectives amid a rapidly changing market.

The firm’s appointment of Aston bolsters its investment consulting capabilities. As a Partner, she will provide investment advice to trustees, including risk management, asset allocation and endgame solutions.

Aston brings more than 18 years of experience to the firm, having worked at a number of the world’s largest pension consultancies. She arrives from Isio – the independent firm formed by a management buyout of KPMG’s pensions wing in the UK. Prior to that, she spent two years as a Director at the Big Four firm. She was also formerly an Investment Director at Willis Towers Watson for a decade, and an Investment Consultant at Hymans Robertson.

Head of Investment Consulting, Rod Goodyer, commented, “Pallavi has been the trusted investment adviser on several FTSE 100 and other large schemes. She has a reputation for providing strong independent advice to clients working collaboratively with trustees, investment managers and in-house pensions teams to build tailored solutions.”
