Simon Orton welcomed to Develop Consulting
Develop Consulting has announced the arrival of Lean expert Simon Orton in its UK team. Orton arrives to help bolster the company’s thriving healthcare practice.
Develop Consulting is a UK wide advisory firm which focuses on the manufacturing and healthcare sectors. Founded in 2018, the firm was established by a team of improvement experts with roots in Toyota motor manufacturing, the Coventry based company works to provide process improvement advice to clients in the healthcare, manufacturing and infrastructure sectors.
Through 2021, the firm has embarked on a recruitment drive in order to support growing demand from clients. Following the recent arrival of Gary Wick, the firm has added a second team member in the space of a month by welcoming Simon Orton aboard.
Develop Consulting CEO Steve Boam remarked, “We are delighted to welcome Simon and Gary to the team which is growing in strength, reputation and skillset daily. We are dedicated to bringing the very best expertise to the table with all of our clients, and we know these additions will be a considerable asset to our company.”
As the firm’s newest Management Consultant, Orton will work in the healthcare sector, and leading on projects including the Productive General Practice Quick Start programme with the NHS. After an understandably busy 18 months for the team in supporting clients with the healthcare system, bringing an expert on the sector on-board is key to the consultancy being able to provide the best advice possible to its clients moving forward.
To that end, Simon Bricknell, Director of Healthcare and Operations at Develop Consulting, commented that Orton would be a welcome member to the expanding team. “We are always on the lookout for talent within our sector and we know that Simon will be a great fit for the role here,” he added.
Specialising in Lean Consulting, Orton spent more than a decade with Molson Coors. He has also worked for various companies, including Nestle, Toyota and KM&T. He will be carrying out various roles with Develop Consulting, applying his skill set within Lean methodology.
Orton said of his new challenge, “I have been involved in many process improvement projects over the years, both on a cost saving and better ways of working (new systems), along with creating training packages accordingly. Delivering training packages and watching people grow on the shop floor to become stronger team members is very rewarding for me, and I am looking forward to working with Simon and the team.”
