Develop Consulting expands team with Gary Wick
Experienced consultant Gary Wick has joined Develop Consulting, as the firm looks to grow its team in the UK. Wick brings a demonstrated history of working within a wide variety of sectors, including logistics, healthcare and manufacturing.
Founded in 2018, Develop Consulting is a UK wide advisory firm specialising in the manufacturing and healthcare sectors. Built by a team of improvement experts with roots in Toyota motor manufacturing, the Coventry based company works to provide process improvement advice to clients in the healthcare, manufacturing and infrastructure sectors.
As the firm looks to support growing demand from clients looking to get ahead of the curve in the UK’s economic recovery, it is currently undertaking a recruitment drive. Coinciding with a new call for associate consultants who specialise in healthcare to join the team, Develop Consulting has announced the appointment of Gary Wick.
Commenting on the news, Develop Consulting CEO Steve Boam said, “Getting the right fit for the team is as important as expertise and it is a pleasure to welcome Gary to the business. As a Managing Consultant, Wick will be working within the manufacturing and construction sectors, and be leading on projects with a number of clients within the UK. He brings 25 years of experience in logistics and internal transformation – and spent the last seven-and-a-half years of that as a consultant working for Unipart Expert Practices within pharmaceutical, utilities, healthcare, warehouse logistics and manufacturing sectors.
Reflecting on his new challenge, Wick noted, “What attracted me to the role was that Develop Consulting are very much hands on in all they do and it’s not just about writing reports. It’s all about engaging with the client and with those working within that system that you are working to streamline and change for the better. The value is about working alongside them and ‘on the shop floor’ to get the job done and that is very much the system that I believe in.”
Manufacturing and Infrastructure Director Steve Clark meanwhile added Wick would be a welcome addition to the team. Clark has been with Develop Consulting since 2020, and will directly manage Wick in his new role.
Clark stated, “The appointment demonstrates the organisation's ambition to continue to grow and build upon the great foundations the team has built during the past couple of years. The search to fulfil this additional position has taken some time as we have been looking for someone with the right level of experience and expertise, and even more importantly will complement the team dynamics.”
