Cambridge Management Consulting buys telecom specialist Straxia
Digital transformation advisory firm Cambridge Management Consulting has expanded its telecommunications capability with the acquisition of Straxia. The network infrastructure consultancy specialises in helping its clients infrastructure planning, delivery and management – and will adopt the branding of its new owner.
As global markets emerge from the pandemic, digital transformation is vital to adapt to a new set of consumer behaviours. As such, firms which specialise in transformation projects are preparing for heightened demand in 2021.
Founded in the historic university city of Cambridge, Cambridge Management Consulting is a specialist management consultancy drawing on an extensive network of global talent. With an emphasis on digital transformation, the Cambridge Management Consulting firm has consultants in 11 countries, with offices in Cambridge, London, Paris and Tel Aviv – from which it helps clients all over the world. The firm offers digital innovation, people and organisational change, cost transformation and project and programme management capabilities.
As Cambridge Management Consulting looks to strengthen its portfolio of services, it has acquired Straxia. A boutique firm founded by Richard Brown in 2009, Straxia has built a reputation focussed on infrastructure transformation and sourcing, more recently using SD-WAN technology to transform networks and migrate services to the cloud.
Cambridge Management Consultants Chairman, Tim Passingham, said of the acquisition, "I'm delighted to welcome the Straxia team to the Cambridge MC family. Straxia widens our telecommunications vertical knowledge, expands our large-scale project and programme management capabilities, and consolidates our technical skillset."
The move will see Straxia rebranded as part of Cambridge Management Consulting, with Brown becoming a Director and General Partner at the company. As part of the leadership team, he stated that his intent is now to build on the two firms’ combined strengths to offer cohesive and agile digital transformation, “enhancing our world class teams with years of practical experience.”
Brown added, "I'm pleased that we can bring our capabilities to Cambridge Management Consulting. Merging Straxia's project management, service management, and sourcing services with Cambridge Management Consulting's wider capabilities brings further benefits to our clients. "
The purchase of Straxia is the latest in a series of expansions for Cambridge Management Consulting over the last 12 months. Earlier in 2021, the company launched a new environmental consultancy, edenseven, in response to climate change. Later in the year, meanwhile, the firm has announced plans to open offices in Dubai and Lagos, Nigeria.
