Management consulting firm CIL launches office in Chicago
London headquartered management consultancy CIL has established its first US office in Chicago. The company has historically served its international client base from the UK, but is looking to expand its footprint in response to growing demand for its services on both sides of the Atlantic.
Founded in 1986, CIL Consultants spent the following 14 years assisting its clients on investments, growing their businesses and managing risk. The firm’s diverse client-base includes the executive teams of large businesses, high growth SMEs, leading private equity funds and other financial institutions. CIL is particularly well-regarded in the education and healthcare sectors, having recently been ranked as one of the top brands in both fields by EducationInvestor and the Financial Times, respectively.
CIL also work heavily in the mid-market private equity space, which is also booming at present. Private equity now holds record levels of cash, and dry powder waiting to be invested, something which has pulled many UK and European consulting firms toward the world’s financial services hubs in the US. Previous examples of this include Brickendon Consulting, which launched in New York in 2016, and ID Comms, which made the same move two years later, alongside consultancies Bovill and Egremont Group, which both opened locations in Chicago, with its strong links to the rest of the US Financial Services sector.
Now, CIL – which traditionally serves its international client base from the UK – has opted to expand its footprint in response to growing demand for its services from both US and European clients. The firm has launched a new presence of its own in the Windy City, in order to better help management teams and investors there optimise profitable growth through new product or service development, international expansion and operational improvement.
Rebecca Pigula, a Principal at CIL, will head up the new office. A former Reporter for Emap Middle East magazine, Pigula joined CIL in 2008, and holds an MA in Modern and Medieval Languages from the famous University of Cambridge. She boasts a particular expertise in tech-enabled business services and life sciences, and will be joined by a team of experienced consultants, including experts in software and industrials.
Commenting on the news, Sebastian Chambers, Partner at CIL, said, “We have a great track record of working on projects in the US for a number of international private equity houses and corporates. Taking the CIL offer to North America is a natural step in ensuring we can serve our clients across key markets even more effectively.”
