Elixirr scoops B2B Marketing Strategy prize 2018 Drum Marketing Awards

UK-headquartered firm Elixirr has been named as a winner the 2018 Drum Marketing Awards for its ‘Challenger Consultancy’ marketing strategy. The firm fought off competition for B2B Marketing Strategy of the Year from seven other firms from across the business spectrum to take the prestigious prize.

Having grown exponentially since its launch in 2009, Elixirr often characterises itself as ‘young and ambitious’. The self-styled ‘Challenger Consultancy’ was named one of the fastest growing consulting businesses in Europe last year, having recorded a revenue of €21.5 million, at a growth rate of 424% while, following its expansion into the US, the firm performed a similar feat in the American market.

Such success at a new firm cannot come without an effective market strategy, however, with new, smaller firms often struggling to win a market share from the established names of the consulting industry without such a plan in place. According to co-founder and Managing Partner Stephen Newton, Elixirr was no different in this regard. Speaking to Consultancy.uk in a recent interview, he said, “Sourcing a revenue stream independent of my personal network was difficult without that reputation, so one of the key steps we took to overcome that was to build market recognition and invest in our brand.”

To that end, this year, Elixirr’s ‘Challenger Consultancy’ brand strategy was nominated for a top prize at the Drum Marketing Awards. The firm was shortlisted for the B2B Marketing Strategy of the Year going back in May, and following the award ceremony during the summer, it was eventually announced that the firm had fended off competition from seven other entities to take the accolade home. Elixirr had been shortlisted alongside financial institution Barclays, as well as marketing agencies Earnest, Harvard, mark-making, RLA Group, Stein IAS and Velocity Partners.
