KPMG partner Kathryn Britten joins FAS practice of AlixPartners in UK
AlixPatners has picked up forensic accounting expert Kathryn Britten – she joins the firm's Financial Advisory Services (FAS) as a Managing Director. The addition of Bitten, who will work out of the firm's London office, boosts the firm's capabilities in FAS across Europe with 40+ years of experience.
Prior to joining AlixPartners, Kathryn Britten worked at KPMG for more than six years, most recently as head of KPMG's Forensics practice in the UK, and previously a Partner. Earlier in her career she worked at BDO where, over her more than 20-year tenure at the firm, she became the UK Head of Forensic Accounting in 2005 and Partner in 1995. Throughout her career, Britten has focused on supporting clients in resolving disputes – through a range of methods, from acting as an adviser and privileged consultant, to being an expert witness and expert determiner.
Britten holds a Bachelor’s Degree, Mathematics from Royal Holloway, University of London. She is a Member of The Expert Witness Institute, a Fellow and Accredited Forensic Accountant and Expert Witness of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Certified Fraud Examiner of the ACFE UK Chapter. In addition, she is a Board Member of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
In her new role as Managing Partner in its Financial Advisory Services (FAS) team, Bitten will focus on further supporting the firm’s expansion of its forensic accounting and investigations offerings across Europe. She will be based out of the firm’s London office.
Simon Freakley, Chief Executive Officer at AlixPartners, which recently underwent a change in its ownership structure, says that he is “delighted” to welcome Britten to the firm. He adds: “Her expertise in forensic accountancy is second to none, and I am confident that her experience in dispute resolution will prove invaluable as we focus on growing and broadening our Financial Advisory Services offering, both across Europe and globally.”
In December last year AlixPartners added an experienced consultant in Germany: Klaus Hoelbling, formerly CFO of Strategy& in the DACH area.
