Consulting firms PwC, IBM and Mitchells Grievson were recognised for their outstanding excellence in providing apprenticeships during the National Apprenticeship Awards hosted at The Skills Show on 13 November. In addition, the three firms are listed in the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers.
On 13 November 2014, the National Apprenticeship Awards were organised. These Awards are awarded for excellent achievements of the most outstanding apprentices and apprenticeship employers in the UK. The winners of the eleventh edition of the Awards were announced during The Skills Show, UK’s largest skills and careers event, at the NEC Birmingham.
This year’s Awards were divided in 10 categories, including Awards for Intermediate Apprentice of the Year, Advanced Apprentice of the Year, Small, Medium and Large Employer of the Year, and Small and Large Newcomer Employer of the Year. The winners for these categories were selected in twelve regions: South East, East Midlands, Yorkshire and The Humber, Central Eastern, North West, South Central, West Midlands, South West, North West – Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Staffordshire, Thames Valley, North East, and London.
Among the several regional winners three consulting firms are to be found. Professional services firm PwC won the ‘Newcomer Large Employer of the Year Award’ for the London region, IT consulting firm IBM UK won the ‘Award for Macro Employer of the Year’ for the London region, and business consulting and accounting firm Mitchells Grievson won the ‘Small Employer of the Year’ for the North East region.
In addition to their Award wins, the three firms were also featured in the annual City & Guilds Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers list, for which firms are selected that have displayed the highest standards of excellence in employing apprentices.
