Six consulting firms in top 100 LinkedIn employers

03 November 2014 Consultancy.uk

McKinsey & Company, The Boston Consulting Group, Deloitte, Bain & Company and Accenture belong to the 50 most popular companies on LinkedIn. The so-called ‘World's 100 Most InDemand Employers 2014’ is headed by technology giants Google and Apple, followed by European multinational Unilever.

For a number of years now, LinkedIn annually releases a ranking of the most popular employers on its network. The list is based on the activity of professionals on the platform, and looks at among others the number of visitors and followers of company pages, the number of visitors of employee profiles and the ‘engagement’ between individuals and company content. According to LinkedIn, the analysis – which this year compared 10 billion data points across thousands of employers – provides a sound indicator of the popularity of employers.

The list is not surprisingly headed by big technology names such as Google, Apple, Microsoft and Facebook, as well as multinationals as Unilever, Procter & Gamble, Nestlé, PepsiCo and Coca-Cola. The top 100 employers ranking contains in total 6 consulting firms, of which McKinsey & Company (#13) and The Boston Consulting Group (#24) are the highest placed consultancies. Global professional services firm Deloitte follows on #32, while also strategy consultancy Bain & Company (#33) and Accenture (#40) find themselves in the top 50. The top 100 includes in addition one more consulting firm: Strategy&, the former Booz & Company.
