PwC launches public sector hub in North of England
Accounting and consulting firm PwC has launched a new specialist government and public sector hub in the north of England, to meet increased demand for services. The team, which consists of approximately 200 specialists, will be led by Ian Looker, partner and PwC’s current head of government and public sector in the North.
The new Government and Public Sector [G&PS] hub will service government and local government clients across the North, says the firm. “The public sector is facing challenging times but remains a highly dynamic market where there is a real demand for reform and significant changes in public service delivery. The hub’s focus will be to work closely with our clients so they can deliver value and help our clients deliver the current agenda of public sector reform and economic growth,” says Ian Looker, lead partner of the practice.
To support the growth of the new service line, PwC has made two new senior appointments. Hamish Clarke has been appointed as partner and will lead the healthcare segment, while existing partner Ray Mills returns to Yorkshire from London to lead infrastructure finance, economic development and regeneration projects. “I am delighted that Ray has joined the team, bringing his expertise and experience of working on significant regeneration projects in London and the South East. His appointment and Hamish’s promotion reflect the firm’s commitment to having the best team of specialists available to help our clients be successful,” says Looker.
