The Honesty Works selects FRP Advisory for administration

Soft furnishings manufacturer The Honesty Works has collapsed into administration. Professionals from FRP Advisory were appointed as the joint administrators, with operations halting.

The Honest Works has operated as a seller of home decor across the UK, for over 30 years. Operating in the town of Darvel in Scotland, it champions a “focus on craftsmanship and attention to detail” noting its specialist craftspeople “create high-quality, luxury products that bring timeless elegance to your home”.

Sustained financial pressures have brought this to an end, however. The latest accounts posted at Companies House for the year to January 2025 announced that the firm was £890,000 in the red, widening from £446,000 for the 12 months prior.

The firm has not made a post on social media since December 2025, while no cushions or curtains are currently listed for sale on the store’s website. Now, a notice at the top of that website has explained that it has entered into administration.

According to the message, professionals from FRP Advisory were appointed to oversee the process in mid-July. Michelle Elliot and Callum Carmichael of FRP Advisory will now seek buyers for the company’s remaining assets – while a spokesperson for the administrators confirmed that despite the client’s director exploring “a number of options to secure further funding, including refinancing”, all 19 employees have now been made redundant.

FRP’s Elliot commented, “Lanfine was a well-regarded business that had operated from Darvel for more than 30 years and built longstanding relationships with major UK retailers. Our immediate focus is on supporting employees with their claims and seeking to maximise value from the company’s remaining stock, plant and machinery.
