Deltek names Cognizant partner for Maconomy implementations in UK and Europe

Deltek, a global provider of software solutions for project-based businesses, has announced a partnership with Cognizant focused on rolling out its ERP suite to organisations across the UK and Europe.

The collaboration sees Cognizant, a global consulting and technology firm, become a preferred partner for consulting and implementation work around Maconomy, Deltek’s ERP application for complex enterprises.

Maconomy is specifically designed for project-based professional services firms such as consulting firms, engineering groups, architecture firms, agencies, and IT services providers. It helps them manage projects, finances, resources, time tracking, billing, and profitability in a single system, driven by automation and AI (known as Dela).

Together, the two organisations will support professional services firms to move away from their legacy systems to Maconomy. Deltek will provide the platform along with its ERP and industry expertise, while Cognizant brings in its consulting, transformation, and technology integration expertise.

“For project-based organisations, business transformation is no longer optional. To embed technology, including AI, effectively and realise its value, organisations must first address the fundamental barriers that limit visibility, performance, and growth. Too often, modernisation happens incrementally, without tackling these structural challenges,” said Neil Davidson, Vice President at Deltek.

“Overcoming this requires a more joined-up approach across finance, projects, and data, built on a modern, platform-based ERP foundation. With the right technology and experienced partners like Deltek and Cognizant, organisations can achieve meaningful transformation while maintaining continuity.”

According to Deltek’s latest Clarity study, consulting firms are accelerating their digital transformation efforts as they navigate an increasingly complex and fast-changing business environment. The research shows that the firms leading the way are also those with the most mature ERP capabilities.

By implementing intelligent systems and unifying data across the organisation, firms can improve decision-making at the partner level, enable project leaders to deliver projects more efficiently and profitably, and equip consultants with smarter tools to work more effectively.

“Project-based businesses are under pressure to move faster, serve customers better, and do more with less. But scaling AI adoption often stalls in pilots due to fundamental challenges such as legacy tech, governance, and data readiness,” said Rohit Gupta, Managing Director for UK & Ireland at Cognizant.

“By combining Deltek’s enterprise technology and our transformation expertise, we look to give clients a practical way to strengthen their finance and operational foundations while preparing for an AI-enabled future.”

Maconomy has been part of Deltek’s ERP portfolio since 2010, when the US-based company acquired the Danish ERP vendor Maconomy.
