Leonard Curtis launches Birmingham funding team

Leonard Curtis has launched a dedicated funding team in Birmingham, supporting the firm’s national growth strategy and reinforcing its commitment to businesses across the Midlands. The team’s creation will be bolstered by a trio of senior hires: Alison Taylor, Jas Mall and Ed Brown.

Leonard Curtis was originally established in 1995 in Bury as an insolvency division of a regional accountancy practice, later growing into a national professional services group specialising in restructuring, insolvency, and business services. The firm today has a team of 340 people operating across a 30-strong office network.

The new dedicated funding team will operate alongside the firm’s well established Birmingham office, bringing together funding expertise, advisory capabilities and lender relationships to deliver integrated support for SMEs and mid-market businesses. It will focus on connecting businesses with the right funding and advisory solutions, drawing on the firm’s extensive lender and introducer network and working in collaboration with colleagues across restructuring, legal and advisory.

Becky Owen, head of funding at Leonard Curtis, said, “Birmingham is a strategically important market for us and this launch reflects our ambition to expand nationally supporting local businesses, introducers and lenders. Alongside our existing Birmingham office, the funding team are well placed to make a meaningful difference to businesses across the Midlands.”

Strengthening the new operation are Alison Taylor, joining as business advisory lead, bringing extensive experience working alongside companies; Specialist Funding Relationship Manager Jas Mall, bringing significant experience across invoice finance and commercial funding; and Ed Brown, who arrives as a funding relationship manager, with deep expertise in helping businesses to access a broad range of funding solutions.

Conrad Beighton, director and head of Midlands at Leonard Curtis, added, “I’m pleased to welcome Alison, Jas and Ed to the team - their combined expertise strengthens our funding and advisory capabilities across the Midlands and reinforces our commitment to providing SMEs with the advice, access to funding and innovative solutions they need to achieve sustainable growth.”
