Insolvency consultancy Business Rescue Expert launches turnaround division
Darlington-headquartered insolvency specialist Business Rescue Expert has entered its next phase of expansion. The firm has launched Turnaround & Restructuring Expert – a specialist division to help SMEs under pressure navigate challenges earlier and secure their future.
Business Rescue Expert (BRE) is part of Robson Scott Associates, an independent insolvency group specialising in business rescue advice. Set up in 2005, the UK firm has grown to become one of the most respected corporate insolvency practices, known for its quality client services.
As BRE looks to expand its services across the UK, it has launched Turnaround & Restructuring Expert (TRE) – a dedicated turnaround advisory wing. Supporting businesses across the UK, with a focus on protecting jobs and avoiding formal insolvency, TRE will be based in Manchester, and be led by Eamonn Wall – founder and CEO of BRE.
Wall commented, “At Business Rescue Expert, we’ve supported thousands of directors through formal insolvency over the last two decades. TRE represents a strategic shift towards earlier, proactive support for businesses concerned about their future and directors’ legal obligations where viability is at risk. This could involve a board or shareholder dispute, HMRC demands, creditor pressure, cashflow issues, or a major unexpected event that threatens a company’s stability, such as a significant insurance or employment claim. Seeking advice early significantly increases the range of options available.”
Small and medium-sized businesses are facing mounting challenges on multiple fronts, often for reasons beyond their control. As a result, BRE has been keen to point out that its new offering is “not a funnel for our insolvency division”, rather, Wall added, it’s “a shield to protect businesses from failure wherever possible” – with TRE “working closely with directors to safeguard their businesses, protect themselves and preserve stakeholder value.”
Wall, who has three decades of experience in insolvency work, will be supported by Managing Director Kevin Pinkerton. He joined BRE to spearhead the new north west operation after 23 years as a lawyer specialising in restructuring and insolvency, during which time he qualified as an insolvency practitioner. He moved from law firm Freeths, where he was national head of restructuring and insolvency.
