Laura Salter elevated to partner at Forvis Mazars

Forvis Mazars has promoted Laura Salter to the role of partner, in the firm’s financial planning practice. Based in Birmingham, she will now work to steer the company’s offering, as it looks to grow across the Midlands.

Arriving with Forvis Mazars (then just known as Mazars) in 2013, Salter has risen from being a graduate trainee, to lead the financial planning team in Birmingham as of 2018. During her tenure, she had helped the practice to grow rapidly, in collaboration with the firm’s other service lines delivered to clients across the Midlands.

At the start of 2024, it was announced that international network Mazars was set to join forces with US player Forvis. The deal created Forvis Mazars – a firm with a combined $4.7 billion in global revenues, becoming the world’s ninth largest audit and advisory network standings, ahead of Baker Tilly and behind Crowe based on current take. In the UK, this has seen its national financial planning team swell to more than 100 professionals across ten offices, overseeing £2.8 billion in funds under management.

Looking ahead, as partner, Salter will continue to steer the financial planning offering and support the company’s growth in the Midlands. This mandate includes developing the team’s skills base and strengthening the company’s position in Birmingham’s business community – where the firm has recently upgraded to a larger office at the bustling Paradise complex.
