Embridge Consulting attempts to redefine business transformation with ‘elastic’ approach

Professional services firm, Embridge Consulting is looking to redefine its approach to change, centring on an emotionally intelligent ‘elastic’ methodology. According to a release from the firm, this approach aims to help business transformation adapt, stick and scale for organisations across the UK.

Headquartered in Gravesham, Kent, Embridge Consulting works across public services organisations. These include local government, higher education, non-departmental bodies, and health and emergency services. Since the firm was founded in 2009, it has become an elite partner with software vendor Unit4, and has doubled its revenue over the last three years – even as the consulting industry encounters a slowdown more widely.

As the firm looks to build on that momentum, the firm has announced it will now adapt emotional intelligent (EQ) leadership as the secret ingredient to its future change programmes. Embridge contends that EQ is more than “people centric” change – it means leaders understand the impact of change on themselves, as well as those they support and respond accordingly. Amid an age of “AI/transformation fatigue”, it believes it is essential to remember that while “technology and processes don’t burn out, people do”.

Under ‘Elastic Change’ Embridge is combining its three Es: excellence in technology; expandable services; and emotionally intelligent leadership, to keep change moving in people-led environments where priorities, policies and pressures shift; all while propelling the forward-thinking consultancy to the forefront of the business transformation sector.

With recent research from the firm revealing that 88% of transformation initiatives fail to achieve their original goal, Embridge believes the approach which can flex as conditions shift and scale as organisations evolve, will enable more successful change programmes, because the people at the heart of them are supported and understood.

Daniel Chilton, chief experience officer of Embridge Consulting explained, “We see that it’s not the change goal that’s the issue – for example changing your ERP, consolidating data or optimising your operations – it’s change that’s delivered in a rigid way. Objectives evolve, resources move and people resist, so an elastic approach makes the difference.”
