Efficio arrives in Shanghai with new office

Global advisory firm Efficio has opened its new office in Shanghai, China. The expansion marks a significant step in Efficio’s Asia-Pacific strategy and enables the firm to provide enhanced, localised support to large multinationals across a range of industries operating in, or with, the world’s largest manufacturing market.

Efficio is a global procurement and supply chain management consultancy, with offices across Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia. In a time of uncertainty, when geopolitical tension and climate change mean supply chains are having to constantly adapt, Efficio partners with organisations to help unlock value, and ensure resilient procurement can deliver them a competitive advantage.

As trade tensions escalate between the United States and many other of its former trade partners, China is becoming seen as an increasingly attractive alternative. As such, supply chain consulting services are coming under rising demand in the country, while clients are also seeking ties to Western countries to help make the most of the opportunities there.

Efficio already has a track record spanning nearly two decades in China, supporting large, international businesses with procurement and supply chain transformation. Its teams have successfully delivered complex projects for multinationals in sectors such as manufacturing, engineering, healthcare, technology, and more.

As the firm’s clients increasingly look to strengthen their supply chains and optimise sourcing from China, Efficio’s Shanghai office will provide the on-the-ground expertise and rapid mobilisation required to meet these evolving needs. This will enable Efficio to offer hands-on support to clients with operations and supply chains in China, as well as to those looking to find and manage sources of supply in China and South East Asia.

The Shanghai office is now open as a formally recognised Wholly Owned Foreign Enterprise (WOFE). Now, the firm will also continue investing in building local capability, including the recruitment of experienced professionals from both China and international markets. This will aim to further build clients a seamless, high-quality service, whether the need is for local category expertise, supply chain resilience, or broader procurement transformation.

Jens Pedersen, co-founder and CEO, Efficio, commented, Opening our office in Shanghai is a significant milestone for Efficio and for our clients. China plays a vital role in global supply chains and is central to many of our clients’ procurement strategies. With a stronger local presence, we are ideally placed to support multinationals navigating the complexities of sourcing, supply chain resilience, and transformation in China. This expansion demonstrates our ongoing commitment to deliver measurable value and sustainable results wherever our clients operate.
