Deloitte clinches gold at the 2025 Sports Business Awards
Deloitte has been named the best professional services firm at the annual Sports Business Awards. The firm triumphed against a crowded field of competitors, with Trivandi and Newfields taking silver and bronze respectively.
Launched in 2017, the Sports Business Awards celebrate top achievers in the UK’s sports sector, attracting over 500 attendees to the ceremony each year. Held at Old Billingsgate on 21 November 2025, the latest edition of the ceremony welcomed six Olympic champions, one Paralympic champion, and numerous world, Olympic, commonwealth and European medallists – alongside 12 SportsAid alumni.
The awards are presided over by a judging panel made up of chief executives of sports governing bodies – all individuals whose knowledge, expertise and experience gives them special insight into the challenges and demands of sports business success. And in the hotly contested Best Professional Services in Sport category, that gathering of sports experts eventually selected Deloitte as the winner.
Deloitte Sports Business Group saw off competition from eight other professional services firms to take gold on the night. In the Sports Business Awards’ notes on the firm, it mentioned it had worked to equip clients with M&A and advisory knowledge, gained while working at the heart of the industry for more than 30 years, across over 40 markets and 40 sports.
Picking up silver in the category was Trivandi. Founded in 2013 from the success of the London 2012 Games, the firm has grown to more than 90 specialists across offices in London, Dubai, Riyadh, and Brisbane delivering over 300 projects in 29 countries. Meanwhile, Newfields – the UK’s largest specialist immigration law firm outside London and the market leader in sports immigration – took bronze.
Mark Lillie, Deloitte’s sports industry leader, commented via a LinkedIn post, “This makes me exceptionally proud… as you may imagine... I truly believe Sport is more important than ever. As we grow up it teaches us physical and mental resilience; how to win and lose (well); how to team, train, learn and lead. It even has the incredible superpower of getting us outside into the fresh air and away from our phones! I also believe it is at the core of the future of entertainment and engagement. In Deloitte we are all-in on sport – both in the purity of sporting excellence itself but also the catalyst and inspiration it has for broader business leadership, community engagement and experience.”
Consultancy.uk also ranked Deloitte as one of the leading sports consultancies in the country. In the platform’s 2025 listings, Deloitte received a diamond rating for its work in sport – including its collaboration with McLaren to produce a Formula 1 circularity guide; and its work as the management consulting and technology integration partner of the Olympic Games.
