Develop Consulting has appointed a former NHS director to its senior leadership team. Felix Davies arrives as the firm looks to expand its services across the community and social care sectors.
Steve Boam, CEO of Develop Consulting, said of the news, “We are delighted to welcome Felix to our senior leadership team. His unique combination of clinical expertise, extensive NHS leadership experience at Director level, and passion for continuous improvement makes him the ideal person to help us expand our impact across acute, community, mental health and social care settings.”
Develop Consulting is an advisory firm focusing on applying lean principles in the manufacturing and healthcare spaces. Founded in 2019, it has so far supported more than 40 integrated care boards and 3,000 GP practices, since its launch.
Davies will work alongside Simon Bricknell to strengthen Develop’s existing partnerships with the NHS, as well as helping to support further organisations in the charity and private sectors. In particular, he will help to drive expansion across the acute, community and mental health, and social care sectors.
Bringing more than 25 years of distinguished experience spanning clinical practice, senior NHS leadership, and organisational development Davies began his career as a clinical psychologist in the NHS. There, he progressed to become director of psychological services in two NHS trusts, and served as clinical director of the National Demonstration Site in Doncaster for Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (now NHS Talking Therapies).
Elsewhere, his leadership portfolio has included CEO of POhWER, the advocacy charity, and national committee roles with the NHS Confederation, Health Education England, Department of Health and Social Care, and Ministry of Defence. He currently serves as non-executive director at Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Care Dorset, and remains an HCPC-registered practitioner psychologist with a doctorate in clinical psychology.
Davies added, “I am delighted to join Develop Consulting at such an exciting time. Having witnessed first-hand the challenges facing NHS trusts across all settings, I am passionate about supporting teams to implement sustainable improvements. The opportunity to work alongside Simon and the team to extend their proven approach into acute, community and mental health settings, as well as social care, is one I’m genuinely excited about. I have known about DC for some time and think that their delivery experience and expertise is very impressive.”
