Lauren Maloney joins Leonard Curtis as business development manager

Lauren Maloney has become the newest member of Leonard Curtis’ growing funding team. Arriving as a business development manager, she brings 15 years of experience to the firm.

Maloney commented, “Leonard Curtis benefits from a specialist focus on SMEs and owner-managed businesses which sets it apart in the market. While many brokers simply match clients with lenders, the offering of Leonard Curtis is much broader, combining finance, restructuring, legal and strategic support in one place, providing clients with a complete solution rather than fragmented advice.”

Leonard Curtis’ funding team has grown considerably during the last twelve months, with 25 now working across the UK to provide solutions to companies in non-distress situations. The team recently appointed its first apprentice, Josh Young, who joined in a newly created role; while Josh Bower arrived as a manager earlier in October.

Now, Maloney further bolsters the team, with 15 years of knowhow from a career in commercial finance and banking. In that time, she has developed significant expertise with alternative funders in the market, delivering invoice finance, asset finance, and commercial property solutions for her clients.

Most recently, Maloney served as business development manager for TFG Capital. Prior to that, she also held senior roles with Time Finance, Newable, and Bibby Financial Services.

Based in Leonard Curtis’ Sheffield office, she will now focus on connecting businesses with the most appropriate funding solutions, leveraging the firm’s extensive network of lenders and its well-established reputation in the market. Maloney will also support clients across the region at every stage of their financial journey, structuring finance that meets both immediate business needs and long-term business growth goals.

Becky Owen, head of funding at Leonard Curtis, summarised, “We are really pleased to welcome Lauren to the funding team. She brings a strong reputation in the market and an established network; both key to being able to hit the ground running, working with our introducer base and their clients to provide vital access to funding and navigate the ever-changing lending landscape.”
