After a three-decade-long career in the pharmaceutical sector, Colin Seller has announced he will offer independent consulting services to SME businesses in the North East of England. According to Seller, the region has been his home for most of his working life, and he now hopes to give back by “supporting its economic development”.

Seller continued, "Bringing my services to the North East is both exciting and incredibly meaningful to me. There is a diverse and dynamic range of SMEs here, each with unique potential.”

A lengthy career in the pharmaceutical industry saw Seller spend time with Boots, Searle and Pharmacia, before a 16-year stay with Pfizer. There, he was most recently, the vice president of network and operational excellence for Pfizer Global Manufacturing – before spending the height of the Covid-19 pandemic with the UK Health Security Agency. There, he led an operation to support the performance and rapid upscaling of PCR testing across the country.

For the last five years, however, Seller has sought to pass on his expertise to the wider industry, by shifting into the consulting sector. Joining Seller HR & Business Solutions, he has since worked to optimise operations and lead significant changes across many complex organisations – including his former employer, Pfizer.

Now, he is bringing that same business transformation experience to the North East to support small and medium-sized companies, as the aim to drive improved performance or growth. According to Seller, his tailored approach is to “implement strategic step changes across a business”, something which helps to deliver “site turnarounds, enhanced profitability… and supply chain optimisation”.

He concluded, “I am keen to collaborate with ambitious local businesses in any sector to help them drive meaningful change, unlock the potential of their people, realise their growth opportunities and help them achieve sustainable success and profitability. Whether you are dealing with a workforce of 50 or 5,000 people, the principles are the same but in smaller businesses, the quicker the results can be achieved.”
