Channel 3 Consulting has welcomed Joe Harrison to its team. He joins as a strategic advisor, having held senior roles across the NHS.

Founded in 2003, Channel 3 Consulting is a specialist advisory firm dedicated to helping health, care, and public service organisations deliver real digital transformation that improves lives. It has partnered with 90 organisations across the UK, from NHS trusts and ICSs to local authorities and central government, supporting them as they work to build strategies for, and implement, new technologies.

Joe Harrison joins Channel 3 Consulting as strategic advisor, bringing national insight and frontline experience to support the company’s next phase of growth across health and care. He will support clients in the NHS and local government, advising on how digital can be used more effectively to improve outcomes for patients, staff and organisations.

Leo Jones, chief executive of Channel 3 Consulting, commented, “Joe brings enormous credibility, insight and leadership at a time when the NHS is under pressure to deliver smarter, joined-up digital change. His national perspective and operational understanding will strengthen the work we’re doing across systems, from EPR programmes and strategic transformation, to the development of new models of care. As we continue to grow, our focus is clear: helping clients move from strategy to impact, and building solutions that genuinely change lives. Joe’s appointment will play a key role in that.”

A leader in digital transformation across the NHS, Harrison is chief executive of Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and national director for digital channels at NHS England. In those roles, he has overseen a number of key changes, including the advancing of the NHS App and NHS.UK, while shaping “one of the most digitally mature hospitals in the country,” according to Channel 3.

Harrison added, “I’m pleased to be joining Channel 3 at such a pivotal moment. I’ve worked with the team and know the impact they make on the ground. They combine strategic thinking with delivery that works, which is exactly what systems need right now. Digital transformation can’t be theoretical. It needs to be connected to the reality of clinical practice, organisational pressures, and service improvement. Channel 3 understands that. I’m looking forward to helping them expand their influence and support even more organisations to deliver meaningful change.”

New hires

The Harrison’s appointment follows a series of strategic hires and organisational developments as Channel 3 expands its focus across health, care, and education. These included the launch of a new children’s services and education team, to support local authorities and system partners to use digital to improve outcomes for children, young people, and families. Meanwhile, Joe McCarry has also joined as executive partner, with a focus on business development and strategic growth.
