FTI Consulting moves construction hub to Glasgow

FTI Consulting has established a new office in Glasgow. The locale will serve as a hub for the company’s construction and infrastructure clients.
A global advisory network, FTI Consulting is an advisory firm for organisations looking to adapt their offerings amid constant disruption. With more than 8,100 employees in 33 countries and territories, the firm generated $3.70 billion in revenues during the 2024 financial year.
In Scotland, the firm is particularly well-known for its expertise in construction and infrastructure. With deep sector knowledge across construction, energy and renewables, transportation, urban development, utilities and commercial property, the construction, projects and assets team supports clients at every stage of an asset’s lifecycle – having worked on some of the most iconic buildings on Glasgow’s skyline, as well as a number of infrastructure projects that are part of Scotland’s cultural and economic landscape.
To meet with growing demand in the space, earlier in 2024, FTI Consulting strengthened its construction delay and disputes capabilities in Scotland with the addition of Senior Director Christopher Martin and Director David Mark. Now, as it looks to further build on that momentum, the consultancy has decided to relocate its Scottish office from Stirling to Glasgow.
“The opening of our Glasgow office has given our Scottish team a real boost, and it sets the stage for our long-term growth journey,” said Manoj Bahl, head of the UK and Ireland construction, projects and assets practice at FTI Consulting. “It also shows our commitment to our clients and to Scotland’s construction and infrastructure market. This sector plays a vital role in supporting the local economy and shaping communities. From our new home in Glasgow, we’re excited to further expand our capabilities, respond to the needs of the local market and help both new and long-standing clients achieve their goals.”
Bahl’s colleagues Michael Neill and Graeme Conway will continue to lead the office, which was present in Stirling for 16 years previously. There, it delivered multidisciplinary construction and infrastructure-related solutions to project owners, developers, lenders, contractors and their legal advisors.
Looking ahead, FTI Consulting’s office in Glasgow’s city centre on West Regent Street will provide advice on contentious and non-contentious construction issues, such as the valuation of defects, dispute resolution and assessing the financial impact of delays or disruptions. They also advise on various types of construction contracts, effective record keeping and strategies for dispute avoidance.
