Ben Tye named new managing partner of Gate One
As Gate One looks to transition to a new era, its founder, Tim Phillips, is moving away from the role of managing partner. He is succeeded by Ben Tye – a partner with the firm, who specialises in digital and strategic transformation.
Launched in 2013, Gate One is a digital and business transformation consultancy. Amid heightened demand for support with digital transformations – and buoyed by investment from Havas – the firm has been able to grow rapidly in the UK, and recently expanded to France, Ireland and the US to serve its growing customer base. Recruitment is underway for experienced management consultants in all offices.
Ben Tye joined Gate One in 2018, and was promoted to partner two years later. During his three-decade career, Tye has built a track record of leading large-scale change programmes, driving digital innovations and enabling lasting culture change within some of the UK’s largest organisations – and the promotion saw him become one of just six Gate One partners at the time.
In the years since, the digital advisory firm has undergone a continued period of change and growth – which he has played a critical role in driving. Tye is also credited for developing a close relationship with Havas to provide greater services to clients. As he steps into its leading role, he will aim to further strengthen those bonds between Gate One and its parent group.
“I’m thrilled to be taking on this position as Managing Partner,” said Tye. “In the last six years at Gate One, I’ve had the privilege of working in high-performing consulting teams with colleagues who are committed to doing their very best to transform businesses. I’m excited to lead the next part of our journey with Havas, delivering transformational change with our clients.”
The move sees Tim Phillips transition away from the head of the firm he helped create 11 years ago. Over that time, Gate One has expanded from a four-partner start-up to an international practice with over 270 consulting personnel on either side of the Atlantic. Phillips will now take on a new role within the Havas network, and exits Gate One with over 25 years’ experiences crafting and delivering major strategic programs across global businesses.
Speaking on his successor, Phillips added, “Ben is a highly experienced strategic adviser and transformation leader, and I am delighted to welcome him into this role. His thoughtful leadership style has earned him great respect among those he’s worked with and has made significant contribution to Gate One already. I couldn’t think of a better person to be taking over the leadership of our agency and shaping its future growth story.”
